Max Homa shot nicely on the Rocket Mortgage Basic over the weekend and almost made a run for the highest of the leaderboard on the Detroit Golf Club within the ultimate spherical Sunday.
Homa was on the par 3 fifteenth gap and about 140 yards from the pin. His shot hit the inexperienced instantly and took a number of bounces earlier than rolling backward and discovering the cup for a hole-in-one. He was all smiles and slapped palms with the golfers in his group.
It was Homa’s second ace on the PGA Tour and helped him end with a 67 within the ultimate spherical and 15-under par for the event. He had 5 birdies and two bogeys Sunday.

Homa advised reporters afterward he didn’t see the shot go in.
“I missed each 7- to 12-footer of the week, so I made a decision to simply purpose nearer to the opening. It was like an ideal pitching wedge,” he stated. “If it landed quick, I assumed it’d skip ahead. If it landed the place it did, it ought to get shut. I made a very good swing on it, couldn’t see it. I’ve made two out right here now, couldn’t see any of them. Someday I want to see it go in. It’s cool to listen to the roar, particularly on that gap. That gap is superior. It was enjoyable.”

Sadly, it wasn’t sufficient to get again up the leaderboard. He completed tied for twenty first.
Rickie Fowler held off Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin in a playoff. Every golfer completed 24-under par for the event. Fowler shot a 68 within the fourth spherical, whereas Morikawa completed with a 64 and Hadwin shot a 67.

It was Fowler’s first PGA Tour win because the Waste Administration Phoenix Open in 2019. He has six profession PGA Tour wins.
