Oliver Goethe received his first System 3 race at Silverstone. He defied quite a few interruptions and difficult climate situations. After end in qualifying, the German saved a cool head all through the race, put his rival Leonardo Fornaroli in his place and did not look again after taking the lead. Sophia Flörsch was unable to learn from the late rain and completed P24. Goethe didn’t get off to begin within the race. Goethe takes the lead after the safety car

However, the lead was wiped out two laps later by another safety car. After colliding with Tommy Smith in the Copse corner, Roberto Faria went off the rails and hit the barrier in the high-speed section. Fortunately, the Brazilian was able to get out of the car unharmed.
Rain showdown in the final rounds
During the second safety car phase, the weather suddenly got involved again and the first rain started to fall on the track. With just two laps left, the teams found themselves in a dilemma: do you switch to the rain tires and lose a few positions as a result? Or do you stay on the track and trust your driver to get the car across the finish line unscathed on the increasingly wet track? The majority of the riders chose to finish the race on dry tires and a showdown ensued over the final two laps.
But despite the risky conditions, Oliver Goethe didn’t give a damn and didn’t even give his pursuer Fornaroli the chance to attack again. The German drove confidently to his first Formula 3 victory and his first points since the season opener in Bahrain. On the radio, he dedicated his premiere victory to Dilano van t’Hoff, who died in Spa. Trident teammate Fornaroli retained second place ahead of Pepe Marti.
Standings in the championship:
With the victory, Goethe jumps to tenth place in the overall standings and now has 48 points. Gabriel Bortoleto retains the overall lead with 128 points, but his podium position reduced the lead to 36 points. After the weekend at Silverstone, Gabriele Mini is the new third-placed with 77 points.
