Nico Hülkenberg is there in the most mediocre Haas when there is something to get. His qualifying performance this year is really strong, only the race pace of the car is catastrophic. In difficult conditions in the sprint, Hulkenberg was able to make the difference himself and use the good starting position. Strong! It’s a good thing he dropped out in the GP, reverse gear was already engaged – but that’s not his fault.
Why is Charles Leclerc my negative hardship case? Certainly he wasn’t the worst driver this weekend. Incidentally, this is also reflected in my grades. But Leclerc was again underground in mixed conditions on Saturday and slower than team-mate Sainz at least in the first stint on Sunday. I’m starting to worry about the super talent Leclerc.

Dutch double from me. The only positive thing that can actually be decided is between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. Verstappen, as untouchable as it is almost every weekend, gets the nod. Negative hardship cases are actually difficult for me to determine. Many riders underperformed in Austria but so many competitive sessions also allow for rehabilitation – see Sergio Perez. De Vries’ weekend wasn’t particularly inspiring in terms of the slight uptick seen in recent races.
