Springbok hooker Akker van der Merwe has reportedly signed with the Vodacom Bulls following his launch from his contract with English Premiership membership Sale Sharks.
Though the Bulls haven’t formally introduced his signing, an official instructed France Media Company that Van der Merwe is becoming a member of the franchise after former Bok hooker Bismarck du Plessis retired this month.
Van der Merwe, who in an announcement on Friday cited private causes for his Sale exit, will compete for the No 2 jersey with Johan Grobbelaar and Jan-Hendrik Wessels on the Pretoria outfit.
