Yankees’ reliever Jimmy Cordero suspended for violating MLB’s domestic violence policy

New York Yankees pitcher Jimmy Cordero was suspended for the rest of the common season and postseason for violating MLB’s Joint Home Violence, Sexual Assault and Youngster Abuse Coverage, the league introduced Wednesday.

Cordero was positioned on the restricted checklist.

“According to the phrases of the Coverage, Cordero will take part in a confidential and complete analysis and therapy program supervised by the Joint Coverage Board,” MLB stated in an announcement.

The Yankees expressed help for MLB’s resolution.

It’s unclear what sparked Cordero’s suspension for the remaining 76 video games of the season.

He missed the complete 2021 season after Tommy John surgical procedure whereas with the Chicago White Sox and spent 2022 with the Yankees’ Triple-A crew at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
