“Wimbledon is Wimbledon”: Aussie teen dares to dream big

Taylah Preston, a 17-year-old from Perth, is amongst eight Australians scheduled to compete on day 10 at Wimbledon 2023.

Taylah Preston is eyeing Grand Slam glory on the world’s oldest and most prestigious grass-court match.

The 17-year-old from Perth is having fun with a career-best run at Wimbledon and immediately performs for a spot within the ladies’ singles quarterfinals.

“To win a junior Grand Slam, and to win right here, can be superb,” Preston told the ITF.

“However I’m making an attempt to not put an excessive amount of stress on myself and simply get pleasure from each second on courtroom. What is going to occur, will occur.”

That is solely Preston’s second junior match of the season. After breaking into the world’s high 10 at junior degree final 12 months, her focus turned to bettering her rating on the skilled tour.

Heath Davidson can be in motion, starting his quad wheelchair singles marketing campaign. The world No.5 faces British wildcard Gregory Slade, a 21-year-old making his Grand Slam debut.

Wimbledon is broadcast in Australia on the 9 Community and Stan Sport, with protection ranging from 9.30pm AEST.
