Sources: Bulls granted $10.2M DPE for Ball


The Chicago Bulls have been awarded a $10.2 million disabled participant exception due to the season-ending knee damage to protect Lonzo Ballsources informed ESPN on Thursday.

The membership utilized for the exception final week, ESPN previously reported.

The exception permits a crew to switch a participant who’s out for the season. The Bulls can be allowed to commerce or declare a participant solely within the ultimate 12 months of their contract or signal a free agent to a one-year deal.

Bulls vp Arturas Karnisovas mentioned on draft evening that the crew didn’t anticipate Ball, who has not performed since Jan. 2022, to return for this upcoming season. Ball underwent cartilage transplant surgical procedure in March.
