Tom Brady reacts to Ryan Mallett’s death: ‘We lost a great man’

Tom Brady on Tuesday reacted to the dying of his former New England Patriots teammate, Ryan Mallett.

Mallett, 35, drowned in the Gulf of Mexico off of the Florida coast, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Workplace confirmed. Officers stated Mallett was one of many folks close to a sandbar who have been struggling to make it again to shore and went below. Lifeguards pulled him out, however he was not respiration and later died.

Brady posted a photograph of himself and Mallett at camp on his Instagram Tales again when the 2 have been on the Patriots.

“We misplaced an important man,” Brady wrote. “Thanks for the whole lot Ryan. … Praying for the Mallett household and all their family members tonight.”

Mallett was a standout quarterback at Arkansas earlier than the Patriots chosen him within the third spherical of the 2011 NFL Draft. He was with the Patriots till the 2014 season, when he joined the Houston Texans. He was later traded to the Baltimore Ravens earlier than he got here a free agent in March 2018.

“The NFL household is deeply saddened by the passing of Ryan Mallett. Our ideas are together with his household and family members,” the league stated.

The Patriots later launched a press release.

“The New England Patriots are deeply saddened to be taught of the sudden and surprising passing of former quarterback Ryan Mallett. Our ideas are with the Mallett household, his former teammates and all who’re mourning his loss.”

Mallett took over as the top coach of White Corridor Excessive College in Arkansas. The varsity district launched a press release on his dying.

“It’s with nice disappointment that we share the lack of Coach Ryan Mallett. Coach Mallett was a beloved coach and educator.
